The AITT Instructor Training Course:

The AITT Instructor Training Course is a progressive training course; an AITT Training Standards Adviser will visit to ensure that the course is being delivered correctly. This approach helps to reduce the stress levels of the candidate. A multi-choice theory test needs to be completed by the AITT Instructor Training Course candidate and the course tutor invigilates this.

AITT initial 10-day instructor course: As an initial candidate you will be required to undertake a forklift operator test to instructor standard. The AITT instructor candidates will then spend the remainder of the time learning how to write lesson plans, learning how to deliver forklift training and how to complete reports to satisfy health and safety requirements. The AITT instructor training course is assessed differently to the RTITB instructor course as it is a progressive course and the AITT tutor assesses the instructor’s ability and there is no end of course examination.  Throughout the 10-day course an AITT training standards advisor will visit our training providers academy to ensure the course is being delivered correctly, this reduces the stress levels to the candidate.  The candidates also complete a multi-choice theory test, which is invigilated by the course tutor.

By the end of the 10-day AITT instructor course you will have sound knowledge of:

  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations
  • Health and Safety at Work act 1974
  • L117
  • Provision and Use of Work Regulations
  • AITT Standards and instructional techniques

The 3-day or 5-day AITT training course is only open to those who are renewing their original AITT instructor training or someone who has a valid instructor qualification with a different accrediting organisation. During the 3-day or 5-day training course you will be refreshed on how to write a structured lesson, how to deliver practical and theory lessons, how to write reports to satisfy your health and safety requirements.

Just like the initial 10-day instructor course there is no end examination or test.  The tutor will assess the candidates and invigilate the theory exam. As an initial candidate you will be required to undertake a forklift operator test to instructor standard. The AITT instructor candidates will then spend the remainder of the time learning how to write lesson plans, learning how to deliver forklift training and how to complete reports to satisfy health and safety requirements.
